Join us for a momentous celebration!

Mark your calendars for February 7th, 2026, as the M.H.S. Class of '67 hosts its annual scholarship event at the Holiday Inn Conference Center West (COCOA), located at 301 Tucker Ln, Cocoa, FL.

This year, we commemorate a remarkable milestone: 27 years of awarding scholarships to deserving graduating students pursuing higher education across various colleges. This event holds even greater significance as we honor our esteemed founder and classmate, Lessie Miller Turner, for her unwavering dedication and vision. The celebration will also joyfully coincide with Black History Month, providing a powerful backdrop to honor our legacy and achievements.

We invite you to join us for an evening filled with music, delicious food, and joyous fellowship. Feel free to express your personal style – whether that's celebratory attire reflecting Black history or simply something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Let's make this a truly unforgettable evening!

This event is more than just a celebration; it's an opportunity to reflect on our rich history, honor those who paved the way for our success, and express our gratitude for the teachers and mentors who shaped our lives. Let's come together and create a memorable evening that embodies pride, unity, and appreciation. We eagerly await your presence.

Wind Beneath Our Wings,(Lessie Turner Miller)
It's hard to believe,  it's been 12 years . We lost a Wife, Mother,Sister, Friend and a Loving Classmate.  Lessie Turner  Miller earned her wings 12 years ago but left a Legacy of love in her Loving Family and the wonderful memory  of the love she had for others. Because of her Dedication ,We The Class of 67 continue to hold that Dedication with Love and Memories of A Jewel we will Treasure ALWAYS.  We miss You Lessie,  but know in our hearts we have an angel directing us and is truly "The Wind Beneath Our Wings."

The Dr. Dave P. Johnson Scholarship
Since 1999, the Monroe High Class of 1967 has been privileged to host this event which has been organized to assist college bound students in furthering their education, and achieving their personal goals. We know from personal experience the road is not an easy one to travel by any means, so it is our responsibility to help develop and prepare our future leaders and educators.

Dr. Johnson was a firm believer in making sure every child received an education, not only because of its importance, but because every child deserves a chance to have one. He dedicated the majority of his time and efforts in turning that philosophy into a reality. He wanted us all to succeed. An education is something that should never be taken granted, however, sadly in many cases it is. It is a gift that should be embraced, cherished and passed on to those who have a desire to make a difference.

We encourage each of you to join us for the celebration of success, past, present and future.
